Mimoň

It`s a czech town in the county of Lipka with abort 8 thousand inhabitants. There are three primary schools, two gymnasiums, cultural centre, musical society and sports clubs which are all leading cultural activity.

The first mentions of Mimoń come from roman times. It got municipal rights in XIV century. Till 1945 the majority of people in the town was german.

Not long time ago there was a factory of extraction of uranium ore. The wooden and textile industries are developing in this area nowadays.

EUROREGION NYSA

In 1991 the cooperation on the border with three countries: Czech, Germany and Poland turned out indispensable because of many problems connected to this neighbourhood. The same year a transnational meeting was organized in Zittau and some official documents were worked out so the cooperation started for good. As a result of it the Association of Polish Counties of Euroregion Nysa was founded.
